for making techno, trance and pretty much any other kind of music there are many different DAWs out there. I use FL Studio, there is also Steinberg Cubase, Avid Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Logic, Propellerhead Reason and many others. All of these are prohibitively expensive so you may want to try LMMS first as it is free. several of these have free demos so you should try them as well. Find out what works best for you.
Hope this helps in your quest to make techno music.

LFL responds:

Thx so much for the advice. I had no idea there were so many different programs out there that I hadn't heard of. Btw I love your music, its rly good ^^

you need to do some de-essing on the vocals as well as use a pop filter when recording but beyond that, it's pretty good. also, the ending didn't seem right, it felt like that could use some work.

p.s. why not put the lyrics in the description so we can paste them into google translate and get some idea of what they mean.

TastyTeo responds:

It's a love story, well i could have sang it again because i wasn't singing properly and the ending could use some help but thanks

The original was epic. This is like blow you mind good :)

TastyTeo responds:

This is the original too i did not change anything just master it so it sounds better because i did not do that on the first version because i did not know HOW?

sounds ok but it stops every loop so there is no continuation from one loop to the next. it should probably also go under video game music.

justice511 responds:

i know :\

its too fast and there is a slight break every time it loops. definitely a good melody though. would make a great into to a longer song i think.

TastyTeo responds:

yeah i just experimented that's why i did not continue it, i wanted to see some critics :P

you can reduce the data size by lowering the bitrate. while 320kbps is great, in most cases 128-192kbps will be fine and the drop in quality will be barely noticable. keep in mind also that fl studio (assuming that is what you are using) seems to over estimate the final size of mp3 files by 1-3mb

that being said, this definitely needs some remastering before 3:58 but you have something going. one of the components of each of your buildups seems to have a lot of very intense white noise in it. IMHO it is a little too intense. I also think that be bass needs something is a few places, perhaps just a little more stereo offset on the delay.

that being said, it is a great start. plenty of variation while maintaining a repetitiveness that makes it easy to add into a long set. also a great selection of samples.

Pulsar013 responds:

Thanx for your response - that certainly seems worth trying. I also felt the same way when previewing it ( the bass seemed oddly less powerful in some places ), I also kept white noise in most of my build ups = I just wish i could hear them better since im not really using good stereos.
As a side note - this one particular bass I made from scratch in 3osc - and used reverb instead of full on delay - unless your talking about another component of it, anyway thanx for the advice.

Sounds good.
I think that although the melody repeats a fair amount it doesn't feel repetitive due to small changes made to the sound.
it does sound like the mix is really empty at some points such as 2:03 and at the transition at 3:15
could be good though.

SoulofT responds:

Thanks for the review, I'm glad you don't think it gets too repetitive.
The transition at 3:15 will be fixed hopefully!

Nice, i like this kind of jazz.
Is this recorded or done with software?

Stargenx responds:

Thanks for the review! Played it with MIDI controller into DAW, unfortunately, but what can a poor man do. Pianos are attractive but expensive.

cool. I felt like it had a bit too much noise in it (ie static) that made it hard on the ears and it took too long to get to the spot around 3:24. there was no melodic release in the beginning three quarters. but there was in the last quarter, it made it seem a little bit unbalanced.

Flashmovieboy responds:

Thanks for the review! So , as far as I get it, I overplayed the progressive part too much? I don't actually get what melodic release in this context means, since in the exact middle, there's a different synth playing different chords. You are right though that it could be just a peak of a buildup and not an actual release. . . anyway, enough with the jargon, I just want to say that I'll keep the stuff in mind next time I open FL :)

I like.
needs a sub bass and a little bit more kick. also in that aria where the kick goes out around 2:00 needs something soft but fast added in in my opinion.
great song though

Stargenx responds:

Thanks for the review! Thank you also for the suggestions, I will fiddle with the stuff.

I got into making electronic music, especially trance and a bit of techno, a little while ago and I'm loving it. Check me out on youtube at my channel: TjPjMusic
